Clinical Trial Coordinator
Genospace’s most popular application, Trial Coordinator, automates the clinical trial matching process. The application takes the trial’s curated inclusion and exclusion criteria and matches it against any patients attributes like disease information, drug history, lab values, genetic information, etc.
In the application, users see which patients are potential matches for recruiting clinical trials. They can click into a match to review the trial criteria and to see that patient’s profile. The user analyzes these matches to reject them, refer them to the trial, or forward it to a physical for a second opinion.
After I tested the application with trial coordinators and evaluated the needs of our clients with the team, it was clear that the workflow needed to focus on the clinical trial, rather than the trial-patient match. Now the product is shifting to become more standardize to accommodate for more workflows at more facilities.
Today trial coordinator has expanded to offer features like: searching for trials using specific criteria, managing the number of available slots in each trial arm, managing different facilities and the users at those facilities.
For these features, I worked together with the product team to define a vision, then created wireframes and high fidelity mockups while working with the engineering team to ensure feasibility throughout the entire process.
